Spanish Recipes, Salsa

admin

three great salsa recipes, easy spanish recipesIf you are a fan of salsa, here are three great salsa recipes to add spice and sophistication to any of your social gatherings. Try them today!

In Spanish, "salsa" means sauce, and unlike in American salsa, most Spanish and Mexican salsas have a lot of variety in ingredients and tastes. With the influx of immigrants from Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries, new foods are being introduced and taken on as must have dishes in America. Almost every party in America makes sure to have enough chips and salsa to go around, without it, something would be lacking.

Instead of buying already made salsa, why not try to make your own variation on this party staple. I have three recipes to try as a first time salsa maker, see how making fresh salsa can spice up any party.

Classic Salsa Recipe

If your taste buds are more into the traditional salsa, this may be the recipe for you. You are going to need a lot of fresh ingredients including, one avocado, a large tomato, a jalapeno, half an onion, salt, and lemon juice. If you are a fan of cilantro, you can also add that to this salsa. The most important trip to making salsa is the size of chunks that you cut up. Remember, we are not trying to make a salad, but a dip. You do not want the consistency of a smoothie, but you don’t want it to be too chunky either. Experiment with the size and amount of each ingredient for fun. Mix everything together and it’s done. Honestly, this takes about ten minutes and it’s ready to serve!

Apple Habanero Salsa Recipe

This is a salsa for those who want something different than the store bought kind. You need two fresh apples, two hananeros (de-seed), half an onion, cilantro, and lime. This salsa requires the use of a food processor to get the right consistency for the habaneros, onion, lime and zest. After using it, cut up the apples into small chunks, and add them to the rest of the ingredients. This is a really interesting recipe, because the acidity of the lime juice mixed with the sweetness of the apples really gives you a dynamic flavor that add sophistication to any party.

Basic Black Olive Salsa Recipe

If you want to add black olives to your salsa, this is a great black olive salsa recipe. Chop up three tomatoes. A fourth of an onion, a cup and a half of black olives, a half cup of fresh cilantro, and a table soon of basil vinegar. Mix together and let this salsa sit in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Some of these ingradients are used in Russian recipes as well.
